2003 Alabama Rural Health Association's Awards Luncheon

The second recognition through the presentation of service awards by the Alabama Rural Health Association occurred at a luncheon held for this purpose at the Farmer's Market Cafe in Montgomery on October 31, 2003.

 

Richard O. Rutland, Jr., M.D. of Fayette was presented with the Rural Health Provider Exceptional Achievement Award and Marjory C. Johnson of Shorter was presented with the Rural Volunteer Excellence in Service Award.  These outstanding Alabamians are only the second recipients of these prestigious awards.

 

Donald E. Williamson, M.D., Alabama's State Health Officer, presented the awards to both recipients.  Glenn C. Sisk, administrator of the Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center in Sylacauga spoke on the plight of Alabama hospitals.  The luncheon was well attended.
